India Post has started the application process for the Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) Recruitment 2026. Through the India Post GDS Recruitment 2026 drive, a total of 28,740 vacancies will be filled across the country. These include posts such as Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM), and Dak Sevak.
Interested and eligible candidates can apply online from 31 January 2026 through the official website of India Post at indiapostgdsonline.gov.in. The last date to submit the online application form is 14 February 2026.
There will be no written examination for this recruitment. Candidates will be selected purely on the basis of their Class 10 marks. The marks will be converted into a percentage up to four decimal places to prepare the merit list. The first merit list is expected to be released on 28 February 2026.
A large number of vacancies are available in states like West Bengal, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, and Kerala.

Who Can Apply for India Post GDS Recruitment 2026 ?
Educational qualification:
Candidates must have passed Class 10 from a recognized board with passing marks in mathematics and English.
Age limit:
Applicants must be between 18 and 40 years of age.
Application Fee
The application fee is ₹100 for General and OBC candidates.
There is no fee for women candidates, SC/ST applicants, PwD candidates and transgender women.
Payment can be made online through debit card, credit card, net banking or UPI.

Salary Details
Selected candidates will receive Time Related Continuity Allowance (TRCA) with a 3% annual increase as per GDS rules.
- BPM (Branch Postmaster): ₹12,000 to ₹29,380 per month
- ABPM/Dak Sevak: ₹10,000 to ₹24,470 per month
Selection Process of India Post GDS Recruitment 2026
There will be no exam or interview. A merit list will be prepared based only on Class 10 marks, and candidates will be shortlisted accordingly.
